From The Rock & Roll of Memphis to the Jazz & Ragtime Music in New Orleans combined with a bit of Texan Swing, makes this another fantastic music themed tour from Travelling Time.

After “Walking in Memphis” enjoying Graceland, Sun Studio, The Memphis Pyramid etc – From Rock to Ragtime will travel to Little Rock Arkansas and the city made famous by President Clinton before travelling south to Texas. You will explore Dallas & Fort Worth, before going on to America’s Music Capital – Austin.  Austin is the state capital of Texas and is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock.  Then, after a visit to Houston Space Center, we will end this fantastic Music Themed Tour in The Big Easy!

Day 1 - Memphis Tennessee

Today your tour begins in Memphis. This vibrant city on the Mississippi River is famous for the influential strains of blues, soul and rock 'n' roll that originated there. Elvis Presley, B.B. King and Johnny Cash recorded albums at the legendary Sun Studio, and Presley’s Graceland Mansion is a popular attraction. Other music landmarks include the Rock 'n' Soul Museum, Blues Hall of Fame and Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Upon arrival, your guide will pick you up at Memphis Airport and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you will be free to join your fellow travellers in the bar, or feel free to take a wander down to the world famous Beale Street!

Today it is time to enjoy the wonderful Sun Studio and learn about the Million Dollar Quartet. Take in all that Graceland Mansion offers and see Elvis Presley's airplanes, costumes and much more. Feel free to join us on a trip to the Memphis Pyramid before visiting the Peabody Hotel and watch the famous Duck Parade! This evening you will have free time on Beale - Be sure to pop in to Jerry Lee Lewis Rock n Roll Bar & BB Kings Blues Bar!

Day 3 - Memphis to Little Rock Arkansas

Today we wave goodbye to Memphis and set off for the Capital of Arkansas - Little Rock! Little Rock, a city on the Arkansas River is home to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, with exhibits including a replica of the Oval Office and presidential artifacts. We will visit The Arkansas State Capitol and you will have time to take a trolley ride around time! This evening we will visit downtown, where you can enjoy a meal and entertainment.

Day 4 - Little Rock to Dallas Texas

We continue our travels today into The Lone Star State - Texas! Our first city is Dallas Texas. After relaxing for a little while in our hotel, we will visit the lively Deep Ellum entertainment district which is known for its vibrant street murals, quirky art galleries and long-time concert venues for indie and blues. Brewpubs, cocktail bars and Tex-Mex eateries can be found - which feature great local live music!

Day 5 - Dallas & Southfork!

Today we will visit Dallas. This modern metropolis in north Texas, is the commercial and cultural hub of the region. We will visit Downtown’s Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza which commemorates the site of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, before travelling to the home of TV's Ewing Family - Southfork Ranch. This evening we will have free time to discover Downtown Dallas!

Day 6 - Fort Worth Texas

Today we will travel the short distance to Fort Worth. In the late 19th century, it became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, it's a modern city, with international art institutions like the Kimbell Art Museum. The Fort Worth Stockyards are home to rodeos, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame honors pioneers. We will enjoy time at the Stockyards and visit the worlds biggest Honkytonk - Billy Bob's Texas!

Day 7 - Dallas to Austin Texas

Austin is the state capital of Texas, home to the University of Texas, Austin is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock. South of the city, Formula One's Circuit of the Americas raceway has hosted the United States Grand Prix. During our time here - you will have plenty of free time to enjoy the sights and the sounds that make Austin Texas "America's Music Capital"

It's our last day in Austin, so after visiting those attractions, why not spend the evening enjoying the atmosphere and music down on 6th!

Today we bid a fond farewell to Austin and make our way to The Big Easy - New Orleans Louisiana. On our way we will visit the Houston Space Center - the coastal visitor center at NASA’s astronaut training and flight control complex. After our arrival in New Orleans - you will have free time to enjoy yourself in the French Quarter and Bourbon Street!
