However, Illinois’s contributions to music go much further. Illinois has a vibrant and diverse musical heritage, which continues to this day, as it hosts a premier multi-day rock festival, Lollapalooza, and the Chicago House Music Festival, celebrating a genre of electronic music that it popularized in the early 1980s.
